A whole organic (I’m not sure how organic they are but heard this website was good) kilo of hemp seeds from Buy Whole Foods Online.

Let the seeds soak in water for maybe 10-20 minutes, it is not like almond milk.

Add 3 dates and a pinch of salt. Make sure you don’t put more than a pinch.

Mix everything in the blender for 60 seconds. Use a thin cloth and get that milk out.

As you can see that my hemp milk still has some tiny bits of the hemp seeds. Not a biggie but if you like it to be perfect why not. I need to buy a thin cloth so I don’t get the bits.
On the picture you have the hemp seeds in a glass jar (like I was telling you yesterday about glass jars/bottles), my almond milk and my hemp milk. All vegan, all very natural and good source of nutrients.

 

What is hemp seeds/milk?
Hemp milk is made from the seeds of the edible part of the same plan (Cannabis Sativa L) used to make marijuana. The seeds/nuts are used for making oil, protein powder and as you can see now MILK.
Obviously you wonder if I get high on hemp milk? Not really haha, the seeds don’t contain any THC or enough THC hahaha (the psychoactive component of marijuana).

Hemp seeds have a rich and nutty flavor, almost like sunflower seeds. Hemp seeds (milk) provides with omega-3 and omega-6, also it contain lots of good nutrients such as: Magnesium, phytosterols, ascorbic acid (vitamin-C), beta-carotene, calcium, fiber, iron, potassium, phosphorus, riboflavin, niacin and thiamin (look up these two compounds).

Hemp is a vegan product that I have blend with water and the seeds.
The mixture gives a creamy texture and nutty taste. Hemp milk is easier to digest than cow’s milk. This is the reason why it is better.

Something that I’m going to try to day is to roast the seeds with some garlic and chili at home, and have that as snacks while working. I think I have over consumed fruits lately, haha. Maybe some more nice protein and good nutrients.

I have been drinking hemp milk for a very long time, and it is my favorite of them all vegan milk out there. You just need to adjust to the taste of it.

And now over to the easy basic recipe:

2-3 cups of hempseeds,
6 cups of water
3 dates
pinch of salt

If you want to be extra, you can add vanilla flavor into it. Yum yum.
